Based on your feedback, Amazon is pleased to announce that new and improved Amazon Seller Community Forums will be launching soon!
We’re setting up these new forums for three reasons. First, we’ve heard from many of you that you would like a "seller only" space, where you can discuss topics related to selling on Amazon with other sellers. These new forums will ensure that only sellers on Amazon.com participate in the seller discussion forums. Second, you’ve told us about security concerns. The new forums will provide enhanced security and prevent users from creating multiple usernames. Third, the new forums will include enhanced discussion board features similar to the Amazon Customer Community forums. We will provide updates as to the exact launch date and other information in the coming weeks. After the new forums are launched, there will be one month of overlap where both the old and new sites will be active. You will be able to post on both sites during this time. After this one-month period, posting in the old forums will be disabled, but you will be able to view the old forum content in its current location.. We’ve created the following FAQ to help answer your questions about the new forums. If your question is not here, please post it as a reply to the thread in this forum entitled “Questions about the New Seller Community Forums.” Our discussion board moderators will answer your questions as soon as possible. Q. Will the new forums really be for sellers only? Yes. Anyone will be welcome to read the discussions in the new Amazon Seller Community Forums, but you cannot create a post or start a new discussion unless you have an active selling account. To contribute to threads on the new Amazon Seller Community Forums, users will log in using their Amazon.com selling account credentials. Such accounts include Selling on Amazon, WebStore, Checkout by Amazon, Marketplace Web Services, Product Ads and Fulfillment by Amazon. You’ll be able to create your own username (i.e., display name) for use when posting in the new forums. Q. Will I be able to use the same user account I have on the old forum? It depends. You must be signed in using your Amazon selling account to access the new forums. If you presently use your Amazon selling account to log in to the present forums, you will still be able to use the same account credentials to log in to the new forums. You will be able to set or change the name displayed for your posts in the new forums by editing your Amazon Profile. Q. Will the content from the existing forums be migrated to the new site? No. We are making a fresh start in the new Amazon Seller Community Forums. However, the content in the original forums will remain viewable in their present location to anyone for a period of time. You’ll be able to visit all of your favorite threads but you will not be able to post new threads there. Q. What forums will be available in the new Amazon Seller Community? All of the forums that you presently see in the Seller Community will be available in the new Amazon Seller Community. However, the discussions (i.e., threads) in the present forums will not be copied to the new location. Once the new Amazon Seller Community Forums are launched, we encourage sellers to begin new discussion threads there as soon as possible. Q. What if I want to ask a question about selling on Amazon but I’m not a seller? You must be a seller to participate in the new Amazon Seller Community Forums. Non-sellers are welcome to read the threads, but you cannot contribute a thread or a post until you have an active selling account. However, answers to questions about selling on Amazon are available to anyone 24 hours a day in our extensive Seller Help pages. Q. How will the new forums be different from the present forums? In addition to the new log-in requirements and the fact that only sellers will be able to post messages, new features will include the ability to rate posts (i.e., “Was this post useful?”) and select to have posts from certain users "ignored." You will continue to be able to edit your posts and report infractions of the Community Guidelines. Q. What if I have a question about these new forums? Who can I write to? Please post your questions as a reply to the thread in this forum entitled "Questions about the New Seller Community Forums." Our forum moderators will answer your questions as soon as possible. Please don’t use the Contact Us form in Seller Help. All questions about the new forums will be answered via the discussion thread. We’re looking forward to launching these new forums. We will continue to update you until the new forums are established. |
