We have added a new feature for the Collectible Books category on Amazon.com. Sellers listing in "Collectible" condition now have three attributes they can include when describing their books.

The new offer attributes are Signed By, Collectible Edition, and Dust Jacket Condition. Because these attributes are difficult to validate and accurately grade, use of the new attributes feature is limited to Collectible Books offers. 

When sellers add information for these attributes in the listing process, we will display selected information to buyers on the Offer Listing Page. Here's a mockup of what buyers will see, showing a book offering with and without the attributes:

Attribute Definitions

A brief description of the new attributes is given below along with values for each attribute.

Signed By: The contributor role of the autographer:  author, illustrator, editor, photographer, other, etc. Amazon will indicate that the book has been "Signed" but will not display the contributor role on the Offer Listing Page at this time.

Collectible Edition: The specific type of collectible edition being offered. The options are:

First Edition
First American Edition
First British Edition
First Hardcover Edition
First Paperback Edition
First Trade Edition
First THUS
Advance Copy
Uncorrected Proof

Dust Jacket Condition: The condition or presence of the book's original dust jacket: Like New, Very Good, Good, Acceptable, and Missing.  (Note: A dust jacket graded as "Fine" will be rendered as "Like New" on the Offer Listing Page.)

Collectible Editions Policy Change

We have revised our Condition Guidelines for Collectible Books to allow the sale of Advance Reading Copies and Uncorrected Proofs of out-of-print books as Collectible. This policy change applies only to sellers who have been approved to sell in the Collectible Books category. The sale of advance reading copies and uncorrected proofs of in-print or not-yet-published books is prohibited.

How to Add Collectible Book Attributes

Sellers can currently use the "List single items" and listing edit processes to add the Signed By, Collectible Edition, and Dust Jacket Condition attributes to their offerings. In coming days, we will be making refinements to our bulk listing tools to allow sellers to add information for the new attributes using Standard Book Loader files and UIEE files.
