My original name on Amazon was Shadowjack2112 which was an homage to one of my favorite Sci Fi novels of all time, Jack of Shadows by Roger Zelazny. The 2112 came from the rock group RUSH. Its one of their album titles. 3 years later... I sold out to the MAN! and changed my name to LoneStar_Media. I realized this was a real business and I needed to treat it like one. (I manage a big box retail store in real life.) Sales are good, despite the fact that I am often one of those dreaded penny sellers! ( I didnt make the penny sandbox, but Im not afraid to play in it!). I still pull a marginal profit from my penny books, it just doesnt put the bacon on the table so to speak. Any way, thats my story and Im stickin to it!

Hi Barb,  thank you...most people think it's to do with 'churning' butter but maybe I was a slow child, had trouble with Sharilyn for some reason.   Dad just always called me that long after I learned better and I still miss hearing it..

How beautiful!  I love the thought of what your name says.  I've heard that NM is just wonderful, I want to go there someday.

Hardly anyone visits this park, not even people from NM. It is stark and desolate but a neat place nevertheless.

Thank you for sharing that link. I went to the site and feel like I've been there. Incredible photography on that virtual tour! I've always wanted to go West. I can only imagine the incredible array of colors.

You're welcome. Aren't you in TX somewhere? We're the next state to the west.  :-)

What an excellent memory you have!!!! I am in Southeast Texas.... about 45 minutes from the Louisiana border.

I have been to the East Coast, to Virginia every year as a kid, and as far NorthEast as Connecticut, almost 10 years ago,but never West of San Antonio, where I grew up.

Both my husband and I grew up in military families. While his family travelled extensively to over 40 different states, and many different countries, my family stayed mostly in Texas, since my Dad was stationed at Lackland AFB for almost 20 years.

Some day, I do hope to travel out that way. I've seen so many gorgeous photos, etc. of the breathtaking skies. I would love to experience the sights "first hand", rather than flat on an image. I can only imagine that the folks out there are extremely peaceful and serene.

Some Day........ <sigh>
