Full agreement here that a return to the 30 day reminder would be welcomed. Have sent a response to Amazon with supporting data (we collect DC results from all shipments). I mentioned twenty days to Amazon as barely acceptable, but rue the statement. I notice that several have mentioned frequent “Where’s my book?” requests. What is frequent will vary by sales volume, but I suggest that ours is very low – two in three years (about 800 sales). Perhaps what we communicate to buyers will help mitigate problems if the 15 days change takes effect: Immediately after the sale, we confirm with full details and state our Ship By Date. The first thing mentioned after that is Amazon’s statement of shipping time. Within two days of shipment, we send an E-mail confirming the shipment and giving the Delivery Confirmation (DC) number. I am thinking of adding the Amazon shipping time estimate to this second E-mail. As we send the After Shipment E-mail, we go to the USPS site and have DC updates sent to our E-mail account. About one a month, we catch a shipment stuck in a distribution center or something like that, and E-mail the buyer if it seems appropriate. I know this is awfully high maintenance. It works for us only because the average sale list price is $17. Hope this helps.

Amazon, it's effective immediately. You want suggestions after you already did it? Thanks for continuing the Amazon policy of implementing changes with zero 3P seller input. You have a hard time expressing yourselves honestly when it comes to your 3P sellers. Here, I'll write your policy for you and you can put it wherever you like on the site. Amazon does not give a damn what 3P sellers opinions or desires are. Amazon will implement policies immediatly without 3P seller's input on a continual basis. Although our seller boards have the capability of running polls for opinions on upcoming changes Amazon will never employ them. Our mission statement is never never communicate with 3P sellers before making a change.

It's not only effective immediately -- it actuall started last Saturday for some sellers, I am told.

I think the frequency issue is relative. I get about 2 to 4 a week and I do about 800 or 900 books a month.

Why is it that every time Amazon does something to punish us, it is presented as if they are responding to our requests, and giving us a little extra help? I read one of these things, and I hear my father telling me, "This is for your own good," as he spanked my bottom. Exactly, I have a similar memory as my ex screamed at me about fill in the blank. He was just trying to improve me! As they say in the movies, I hope you have another line of work lined up.

I never got a confirmation, neither did the Very nice customer. I called Seller Support on Sunday, he confirmed it was 'stuck'. Monday nothing. Tuesday the customer emails me. I email Amazon with the feedback link they sent me on my inquiry. I asked them to perform the refund. Today, I get an email saying I didn't do a refund. WTF? I send another request for refund. Do you hear it? It is the sound of me hitting head on wooden desk. Congratulations, Jeff, they said you wouldn't amount to anything... I am sure all your teachers are in shock and awe.

Wow, *Frances. By AZ's standard I should now be able to post (2) 1's for the title I ordered on Aug. 20th, which still hasn't shipped yet. By the way, it's so nice to see you making nice as opposed to telling folks to 'get a clue' or calling other sellers 'knuckleheads.' What a difference a few weeks can make in our Gremlin. (*not to be confused with lawyer Frances)

I would highly recommend that the email release schedule be 20 days from date of order, otherwise more sellers will get low ratings through no fault of their own. Actually, the window that Amazon gives buyers for delivery of books ordered with Standard Shipping is 6 - 16 business days. (Remember we get 1 - 2 business days to ship the item.) So, if a buyer ordered a book on September 1st, the last day in the delivery window would be September 25th. 25 days is the earliest Amazon should send out the reminder emails. Meredith

Wondered why I started getting a bunch of "where's my book" emails. Funny thing is, per delivery confirmation, ALL of them had already been delivered. One has already written to apologize (she was pretty harsh, then found out roommate had the book). But here's an example of another of the emails I got: "As per request on the Amazon site, I am informing you of my discontent with the service provided prior to posting any feedback on the site. I didn't receive the book I ordered within the time frame quoted and therefore frrl I was overcharged shipping fees."
So, pretty obvious that they got a feedback reminder from Amazon.
(BTW, in this case, the order was received Sunday Sept 3, shipped Monday Sept 4 (Labor Day), so it didn't go out till Tuesday, Sept 5, then arrived Thursday, Sept 7 (via Priority Mail). Haven't heard back from the customer, nor has she left feedback, since I sent her an email with this information and a cut-and-paste of the del. con. info from the USPS website. Hmm. So don't know how she "frrls" now)
Oh yeah, and did send an email to feedback-feedback, like it's gonna do any good.
