I must agree with Kat here. I keep my SSN's if there is a problem. I send out e-mail confirmations to buyers via the recent market place orders shipment notification. But, if I have a problem with an order or I need to get the direct attention of the buyer, I use the e-mail address listed on the ssn. I truly don't know why they feel this is a necessary tool to remove. I know we have all been told about this for months, but I think it is a bad idea. When I send e-mails through amazons communication center to a buyer I very rarely get a response, but if I send it from my e-mail address to there's they respond! Sorry for the rant. I am up to my elbows in cooking chicken cutlet parm and ziti for my son's party tomorrow! Dawn P.S. I am psyched though. MY dad called me and said he stopped at a yard sale (December in New York???) and picked up a cd collection for $5 sealed on a Mozart collection. I'll let you know more when I see it, but he looked it up and the only other seller has it listed for $175 on az and on ebay for $50. Nice work, I am training my dad well.Ill pass along the info as soon as I get a hold of it.

Splash screens--- that cracked me up. Along with the ads you need to chase along your screen to try to close them. Tim

It's not required. In fact, it's not encouraged. If you've ordered anything from the Amazon Marketplace recently, check e-mail you got from Amazon (Your Amazon Marketplace Purchase). About mid-way down is the statement, "The seller has agreed to ship by xx-December-2006. This message serves as advance notification of your shipment--most sellers will NOT send a separate shipment confirmation." Lawren Lawren: all amazon is saying is that most sellers won't send a confirmation on a sale. It does not say a seller should not or discourage it in any way. I am not MOST sellers. I want to stand out from the rest by giving exceptional service that the buyer does not expect. Dawn

Now I merely hit the email address in the SSN and sent out my shipping email. With the new system, I'll have to write down the email address, go back to my email account and type it in before I can send my shipping email. This will take much more time and leave room for many mistakes. I'm not a happy camper. Message was edited by: tomes_in_the_attic

announcement - NOT doing the change!!! YEA!!!!!!! . Greetings. We previously announced an upcoming change to "Sold, ship now" e-mail notifications here: http://www.amazonsellercommunity.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=128134 As a result of your feedback, we have postponed this change. We will announce a new date for the change in the near future. We want to allow plenty of time for sellers to make the transition from relying solely on e-mail order notifications. To help you make this transition, we will be providing two new notification options: an Event Notification Web Service API (Application Programming Interface) and the Amazon Services Order Notifier (ASON). The Event Notification Web Service API documentation, including SDKs (Software Development Kits), and a beta preview of ASON will be released together soon. We welcome your feedback on both the Event Notification Web Service and ASON. We will consider your suggestions and comments when making future improvements. Thanks for selling with Amazon.com.

I would not get your hopes up that they are reconsidering. They are only delaying this because the alternative ASON system has been delayed.
