Changes to "Sold, ship now" e-mails
Posted: Mar 27, 2007 5:42 PM

Greetings.

To protect confidential customer information, and to increase the reliability and security of communications about orders, we will soon be changing the content of "Sold, ship now" e-mails. In the very near future we will be determining the final date for this change. After the change has gone into effect, the e-mail notifications will contain only the following information:

• A notification that a customer has purchased one of your products.
• The quantities and product titles of the items in the order.

We will no longer be including information about the buyer, such as the buyer e-mail address, or information about the order, such as the order ID or the product ID, in "Sold, ship now" e-mails. After the change has gone into effect, it will be necessary for you to use other methods to retrieve this information.

We have always recommended that sellers use the features in Your Seller Account to manage orders. After this change to the "Sold, ship now" e-mails goes into effect, you will still be able to use Your Seller Account to retrieve order information, using the "View your recent Marketplace orders" and the "Search your Marketplace orders" features. If you are a Pro Merchant subscriber, you can also generate Order Fulfillment Reports from Your Seller Account using this path: Reports > Get listing and fulfillment reports.

"Sold, ship now" e-mails will still notify you of new orders. However, remember to regularly check Your Seller Account for orders since e-mail can be subject to delivery problems that occur outside of Amazon.com’s systems.

Thank you for selling with Amazon.com.
