Endicia-Can't Get 5/14 Date

I wanted to print postage on Endicia with Monday's date. It is not an option. I downloaded the 7.0, so don't know why I can't date it the 14th. Anyone else having the problem. If not, what did you do to make it work. Thanks, Dale I just looked and see there is a thread further down on this very subject. Sorry for not looking first.

The notice that came with the update stated prices would go into effect at midnight Sunday. At that time, Endicia will also start requesting more detailed descriptions of your item, evidently, even though the postal choices have already changed. I assume the system will also be down for a bit around that time. The notice probably said as much, but I don't remember.

That's a real drag. Now I can't do any postage until Monday morning. I assume Endicia will be using EDT to change the rates. Their systems seem to be geared to go with Pacific time. If Endicia planned on being down, they would have let us know. I don't remember receiving any notice of down time. I also haven't received an updated 7.0. The version I downloaded was 7.0.10. I heard they would be revising all through the weekend. Dale

Same problem here, except I'm leaving for Seattle today and can't take care of this tomorrow. I'm going to have to print the postage with today's date (and rate) and hope they send it on. I downloaded the latest 7.0.10 It appears Endicia is having a difficult time with these changes. No surprise, everyone is, including the PO themselves. I'm sure it all sounded good in some conference room somewhere... I think this is the first time I looked forward to putting my listings on vacation. Hope y'all get it sorted out by Wednesday!!!

When they were announcing the change on the news this morning, they quoted the Postmaster General as saying the Post Office would still be working at a loss with the increase. Get ready for the next hike folks. Have a good trip. Dale

Does no one read their emails? Endicia made it very clear that for just that one day, the 14th, no pre-postage can be printed. After the 14th it will be back to normal.

CHANGE THE DATE ON YOUR COMPUTER TO MONDAY AND YOU CAN PRINT AT THE NEW RATES.

Hey, excellent suggestion, and it works too! I had thought about it last night and was going to give it a try, I am kind of surprised that endicia runs off the date on your computer - especially since the program is tied into all types of servers. Seems since they have to check the postage balance with every transaction, the date verification would be server based instead of client based. I think it could lead to all sorts of problems from dishonest people, set the date back next week, print in stealth mode at the old rates...the USPS wouldn't know unless they check every package.

If you prepare a package for shipping today, the label has today's date and the old shipping rates are still in effect. It's not YOUR fault that the post office is closed today.
How is this any different than dropping a first class letter in the mailbox today, at 39 cents, that gets processed tomorrow? In fact, with metered mail, you COULD try dropping the packages that will fit into nearby mailboxes today, for pick-up tomorrow.

You're not allowed to put Media Mail packages in a mailbox. I'm not sure you can even put Priority Mail into the mailbox. Dale

With all the confusion that will be the post office tomorrow, it will probably go through..but I wouldn't be willing to risk it personally, not really interested in having dozens of packages coming back to me wanting more postage, then dealing with continual where is my package emails...

Right click on the bottom of your computer where it has the time. Click on Adjust Date/Time - Then, click on May 14 (your computer should say May 13) and hit ok...just set it back late tonight, so you aren't always a day ahead.
