Posted: Dec 1, 2008 1:06 PM

Hello from Amazon.com.

Amazon today announced the completion of its acquisition of AbeBooks. Amazon.com previously announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire AbeBooks on August 1, 2008. We expect AbeBooks to help us expand the selection of books we offer to our customers, especially used, rare and out-of-print titles.

AbeBooks will continue to maintain and operate its retail sites, with over 110 million primarily used, rare and out-of-print books listed for sale. You can find out more by visiting http://www.abebooks.com/.

We expect this change to provide lots of opportunities for Amazon and AbeBooks to further enhance the book buying and selling experience.
