Billboard in Wyoming - 'Miss me yet?'
Posted: Feb 9, 2010 10:29 AM

This is too funny.

http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2010/02/bush_miss_me_yet_billboard_is.html

Internet chatter had led to speculation that it might be an urban myth -- nothing more than clever digital trickery spreading via the Web.

But our friend Bob Collins at Minnesota Public Radio assures us he's seen it with his own eyes:

There is a billboard along I-35 near Wyoming, Minn., with a huge photo of former president George W. Bush and this question: "Miss Me Yet?"

Now, the push is on to find out who paid to have it put up.

Bob says there's no readily apparent claim of ownership on the billboard, so he's heading back to the scene to see if he can find out who's behind the message. He's also got some local politicos looking into it. He'll keep us posted.

The scuttlebutt is that it is paid for by small independent businesspeople and more billboards are ordered to go up all over. Small business is being hurt the most right now and this is how they can afford to fight back. Coming to your neighborhood soon.

To answer the question: No. Not at all.

That pathetic simian did his damnedest to destroy whatever was worthwhile about America, culminating in the orchestrated savaging of its economy by multinational financial concerns. The mouth-breathing dullards who continue to fawn over this most corrupt of professional failures stand as proof positive that a certain percentage of the population does not have, and never will have, a clue as to their own true interests or the array of forces aligned against them. They'll line up to cheer the Shrubyas and Palins of the world, applauding furiously even as the army of corporate propagandists sponsoring their candidacies devise ever newer and more clever ways of separating them from their homes, their health, their livelihoods, and ultimately their freedom.

Great post!

Unfortunately the knuckle-dragger set on these boards won't understand it due to your use of so many $2 words.

Point of clarification: the billboard is not in the state of Wyoming, as the title of the thread might suggest, but rather along a stretch of I-35 in Minnesota not too far from the town of Wyoming. When we saw the billboard about a month ago, as we were driving down to Minneapolis, we nearly drove off the road laughing so hard... It's a very funny sign, and nicely breaks up the litany of pro-life and meth-treatment billboards along that portion of the highway.

Every time I walk into work I'm greeted with that stupid "miss me yet" picture. It's hanging up in our front door, has been for months now. It's pretty pathetic, the Republicans did all they could to distance themselves from him, because he was bad for their image, and now what, he's suddenly okay?

Now why would you assume that it was erected by the Right-wing? Maybe it was put up by the Left to take a jab at how little they miss Bush now that Obama has done such a great job of saving America. They could be bragging! Just think....no more war.....no more debit spending......no more controls over personal lives (like the Patriot Bill). Just look at how much better it is now that Bush is gone and Obama is in. The Left has reason to brag and they are probably the ones who put up that billboard......or maybe not.

the army of corporate propagandists why are corporate propagandists bad, and liberal, left-wing propagandists good? Seems too black and white

Wow, what a load of hot air and big words to try and convey intelligence. Jesse Jackson would be proud!

Yeah, you know the old saying -

If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullsh*t.
