OT: Anyone see the movie "Inception" yet with Leonardo DiCaprio?

I have really enjoyed the trailer and this looks like a movie I would love to see.

I read one very positive review.

Has anyone seen it yet in the theaters?

If you liked The Prestige and Memento (other Christopher Nolan movies) you will like this one. I am going to see it again to pick up on the clues I missed when I watched it yesterday. It is the best movie I have watched this year.

Hi,

Thank you for your post!

I am not familiar yet with Christopher Nolan and his other movies, but I will check those out as well.

I'm glad you enjoyed the movie, I will purchase it when it is released on DVD.

My daughter works in a big theater here, she said the movie is doing terrible. In a 5 hour period, she didn't sell one ticket - it was 101 degrees here today, movie theaters were busy, that movie wasn't.

I went and saw Sorcerer's Apprentice - another movie not doing well - it was cute and fun

I saw the first showing (10:30 am) and there were plenty of people playing hooky to see it.

Hi,

I am surprised with your post, as I have read that the movie took in 21 million dollars just on Friday.

If you don't want to go to the theater to see it at least check out The Prestige. It has a shocking ending (like Inception). I immediately watched it again to pick up where the director left clues. It is worth it just to see David Bowie play Nikola Tesla.

Hi again,

David Bowie is in "The Prestige"?

The only reason I can't go to theaters is my father has hearing aids and the loud sound really disturbs him, even when he adjusts the volume.

I read a little bit more about "Inception" and it mentioned that you really need to see it twice to catch everything as you mentioned.

I will look up the two movies you mentioned on Amazon on DVD.

Thank you very much for your posts and your input!

hey all - not to interrupt this thread - but, do you all have a RED BOX where you live? it is easy and cheap!! better than Net-flex.

they have them here in front of stores. it's red, the size of a large Coke machine. it's called the Red Box. and you can rent movies for $1, a day. w/ a credit card. just pick out a movie, rent it, swipe your card, viola'! but, have it back by the next night, or you'll pay another buck. you can return it to any Red Box, not just the one you got it from.

Hi kat,

I have seen something similar to the "Red Box" in the grocery stores I shop at. (I don't remember what it was called or what color it was.)

I used it once and it worked out well.

We use Redbox. I'm not sure I'd call it better than Netflix. I'm not always good at returning movies the next day; so I get hit with late fees, of which there are none with Netflix.

We live in one of Redbox's test markets. We pay $1.50 a day, so that the company can see if the market will bear the increased price.

We saw it on Friday when it was 102 degrees here. Theater wasn't even a third full. I've never seen so many people walking around during a movie either - 3 left that never returned and lots of others came and went.... it was hard to stay with for 148 minutes.

Thank you earthmom22 for your post.

I read your review and it is fairly apparent that you and earthdad didn't care very much for the movie, although you enjoyed some of the special effects.

I was a little bit disappointed to read your review as the movie looked like it was going to be a really great one from the trailer. (But you know how trailer's are, sometimes they just show only the high points of the movie.)
