Free way to bulk print order packing slips + mark as dispatched?

Obviously Amazon has some huge holes in what's offered on their web interface, but surely I'm not the only person who is sick of clicking through each unshipped order, opening the popup, printing one by one, and marking as dispatched?
What's the best, cheapest (preferably free) way of printing order packing slips and marking orders dispatched in bulk?
eBay offer it built into their web interface easy peasy. Although I'm liking Amazon so far (having been selling for many years on eBay), I'm disappointed with such an obvious gaping hole like this. Have had great sales though!

I use The Art of Books. It is not free, but it is very handy. You list in one place and they upload to many. You can print a pull list, packing slips and mark each order shipped all with one click.
It is $10 a month.

I'm not selling any books, so Art of Books not so handy for me. Nice piece of software though!
And as for FBA, it's nice, but costing it up it's not so great for me, non media items and I run a fairly wide product range on a just in time stock basis.
Surely gotta be someone who's made a nice API app or Excel merge into text or somethings.

Minimum. Then a percentage of sales (1% on over $1000?), can get very expensive...
It's great for small sellers, but larger sellers may do better with a flat fee (per month) package like Aman Pro (www dot spaceware dot com), which is much more flexible and efficient for bulk order processing. About $50/month. Does NOT do multiple sites (easily).

I don't see a reason to cough up percentages of my takings to third parties for one simple feature that Amazon should have provided anyway. I'm happy with my own inventory management systems :)
Surely there's gotta be a handy freeware API tool to do this? Darn, if only I was a programmer :/

AOB is not one simple feature, but I understand your needs are different.
$5 grand a month is some serious volume, but I'd be shopping for a cheaper service if I was doing that kind of volume every month of the year.
If you can't find one, hire a programmer and sell the software yourself.

i use a simple access database file. download the daily order report. upload it into the database and have it print the picks.
Then once the items are shipped, i enter the tracking numbers, create the shipping document and upload it to amazon. works out okay for the time being but i think i need some modifications on it.

If you're making $5k a month selling, why be so cheap wanting something for free that you're going to depend on as part of your shipping process? Either hire a programmer, get a customized system built for you, or get one of the services that do exist for a monthly subscription fee.
It's not Amazon's responsibility to provide business tools for you. When they do provide them (like the new postage feature) there is a price tag associated with it that benefits them. You pay.
Or keep digging until you find some hack with a free bit of software - and remember you get what you pay for.
